Freemasonry on the Frontier…’
The Conference – ‘Freemasonry on the Frontier’ – focuses on key individuals and their lives, and broader themes, including the influence of Irish and Scottish settlers, Prince Hall Freemasonry, and the social and political impact of freemasonry locally and nationally.
The Conference structure reflects the westward expansion of the frontier from the Atlantic coast in the early eighteenth century, to the Appalachians and Mid-West in the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, to the Pacific at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century.
There will be adequate time for attendees to question speakers and raise their own points, and to stimulate discussion and debate across the floor. We have a world-class lineup including Bob Cooper, Curator of the Grand Lodge of Scotland; Brent Morris, Editor of Heredom; Mike Kearsley, ANZMRC and Prestonian Lecturer; Ric Berman, the Immediate Past Master of QC and Prestonian Lecturer; Walter Hunt, Grand Historian of the GL of Massachusetts; Andreas Onnerfors, Professor, University of Gothenburg Sweden, the current Master of QC; and other leading national and international speakers.
Given that many attendees will be flying in from out-of-state and will wish to travel with carry-on baggage, the dress code is smart/casual and there is to need to bring regalia. If you are invited to attend a local Lodge, aprons will be provided.
